Meditation-57 (vk-320)
Leaning towards Indian contemporary art, the Meditation series floral paintings are happy and serene. These paintings portray agitation of mind at one end (before) and tranquility at another (after). Various elements of trees create this transition in an interesting manner. The rhythm is from bottom to top or sideways, or diagonal. In this small size painting, meditation is depicted thru Peltophorum Pterocarpum (commonly known as copper pod, yellow-flamboyant), a large beautiful tree with yellow flowers and coppery pods. Rabindranath Tagore named it राधा चूड़ा. The painting has been done mostly in a negative style where the colored flowers, leaves, and buds have been left white while the backgrounds are colored.
